Wiccan and Pagan Holidays

Wicca, learned from the ancient Pagan practices, is basically nature and magic-based religion . Wicca imitates other community religions with its own rituals, periodic "holidays" and also belief system. In Pagans and Wicca, there are several days observed as “holidays” or seasonal rites. Full moons (as well as sometimes new moons) cause the ritual Esbat. There are as well eight Sabbaths- four of which, the cross-quarter days, are greater than the others and even relate back to age-old fire festivals. Samhain, Beltane, Lammas and Iambic are the names of these days. Other, lesser celebrated celebrations are the summer as well as winter solstices along with springtime and autumn equinoxes.

Pagans perform "rituals" at important Sabbaths, esbats, or sometimes for some other reasons such as handfastings (pagan weddings), wiccanings (pagan baptising! ), or other special events. Ritual mostly simply involves casting a circle, calling upon the deity, calling upon the Four elements, and performing the ritual itself (like to thank the deity for the harvest, etc). The rituals and the way to perform these rituals differ which greatly depend on the denomination and each pagan. Many of these rituals are performed on a solitary level while others will search for people and become part of a covens.

Beltane, which is a popular Pagan holiday, is celebrated widely in the month of May. Beltane, the Pagan festival, is celebrated to mark the beginning of warm season. In some mythology, this is the time that the Wiccan Goddess and God first wed or conceive a child. The parties that take place are called the Beltane Fire Festival, and this takes place each year on April 30. Beltane is an event for anyone has long since lost its religious connotations for many people.

Samhain is celebrated during Halloween's. Halloween is an annual holiday observed on October 31. Its origins is considered to be at Samhain as well as the All Saint's Day being observed by Christian believers. On this day, people tell scary stories, visiting haunted and isolated sights, watch horror pictures, go for ghost tours and tricks, wearing Halloween costumes, carving scary lanterns and many other horror activities.

The Smahain festival is a party being done by the end of harvesting season in the Gaelic culture. It is also called Celtic New Year. The age-old Celtic pagans used such time to slaughter animals and also get stock of provides to be allocated for winter stores. At the time they believed that during the last day of October the dead was able to present increased danger to the living as they could cause sickness and damage on crops . The festival parties involve a contemporary retelling of the classic light against dark tale, this time relating to summer time battling it out with winter season.

This fire festival is attended by thousands and fantastic, highly unusual ways in which to enjoy Halloween - perfect for those, who prefer not to attend parties or dress up themselves and wish to take in something new .

Spring brings joy of growth and progress. Hence, probably the most useful Love Spells cast are those that give emphasis to planting a seedling that will grow, instead of rekindling a love or trying to firm up an old love that already exists. They conduct the festival that included bonfires where the bones from the slaughtered livestock were thrown into. People who celebrated this festival wore horror masks and evil costumes to pacify evil spirits.
