New Age

What is New Age
New Age is a spiritual
movement which came into being around the mid
twentieth century. It fuses Eastern and Western
spiritual and metaphysical beliefs and injects
concepts such as psychology, parapsychology,
holistic health, and consciousness research and
quantum physics. It is a non – religious
movement which aims to “create spirituality
without borders or confining dogmas”.
Followers of the New Age movement believe that
the mind, body, and spirit are interrelated and
that there is a Oneness or a unity throughout
the entire universe. New Age, unlike religion
does not found itself on faith as it embraces a
number of scientific and pseudoscience concepts.
Lightworkers
New Age belief and practices
are founded to a large degree on a belief in
unconditional love and compassion for other
members of the human race and the environment in
which they live. The light worker is a term used
by New Age followers for people that channel
different energies to perform different tasks
that help other people, which in turn are based
around a belief that there are universal
energies that connect people and everything in
the universe together. The light worker
manipulates this energy to create something
positive for another person. Reiki is a good
example of this.
Many lightworkers choose to “shine their light”
on people with whom they interact. This is based
around the supposition that the world will be a
better place if they do, and in showing love and
compassion they are embarking on a journey to
the divine.
Holding Someone in the Light
This term is arguably the
equivalent of a Christian prayer. It involves
sending universal love energy sometimes referred
to as divine energy to an individual who is in
particular need of healing or help. “Holding
someone in the Light” is also a form of prayer
for The Religious Society of Friends, also known
as Quakers.
Lightworkers.org defines a lightworkers
mission as: “To walk upon the face of the planet
lightly, as the rainbow warriors of our time,
and shine our love, happiness, and peace into
the world. To calm the inner turmoil, to just
be, and be happy with who you are, to love life,
to love all that is, that power some call god,
and of course to love one and other
unconditionally.”
Metaphysics
Metaphysics concerns itself
with explaining the fundamental nature of being
through asking two questions
What is there?
What is it like?
This branch of philosophy is not easily defined
given the huge scope of the answers to the above
two questions. Metaphysicians spend their time
clarifying what we know as existence, object,
property, space, time, causality, and
possibility.
Metaphysics is important to the New Age belief
as its followers believe that through embracing
metaphysics and trying to see beyond what is
perceived to be real, a healing process can
occur through focusing the mind to the task.
This healing process occurs psychically.
Many New Age followers feel that science’s
empirical and pragmatic approach is beginning to
“catch up” with new age beliefs that the laws of
nature are to a large extent different than what
is normally perceived.
2012
New Age
followers like many followers of faith and
superstition believe that an event of enormous
magnitude will occur around the 21st December
2012. New Age belief is that this will be a
positive or spiritual transformation into a new
age or era. It does not necessarily mean that
this will happen overnight, but marks a
beginning of a better time based on
unconditional love.
This belief is at odds with other beliefs that a
huge catastrophe will occur. The 2012 date marks
the end of the world.
Scientifically speaking, there is no tangible
evidence that the world will end.
I expect there will be major
changes coming about on or before that date,
including first contact by the lightworkers who
have brought many cloaked spaceships that reside
here on earth right now.
